The Aspiring Musicians Program Camp is a day camp for students ages 9-17 years who have played their instruments for at least one year and are able to read music. This five-day camp provides students an opportunity to perform with other talented students, receive class instruction in instrumental technique, and explore music through musicianship classes. Time spent studying and rehearsing culminates in a concert for parents and friends on Friday. Camp instructors will include faculty members of the MSU Community Music School-Detroit.
Camp begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. (Monday-Thursday). The camp week ends with a concert for family and friends. The concert is held at the MSU Detroit Center. All rehearsals and classes will be held in the MSU Detroit Center building located at 3408 Woodward Avenue, Detroit.
Tuition is $200. Lunch is included in the tuition cost. Campers are chaperoned during the lunch period. A limited amount of tuition assistance may be available for families with need; income based.
