Rock Summer Camp

Teen Musicians from local middle and high schools will join a band, learn the ins and outs of the rock music biz, and prepare for a final concert with The Outer Vibe at the Detroit River Days Festival.

Students (ages 12-18) with some experience at guitar, bass, drum set, piano, brass, clarinet or singing are welcome.

At camp, students will form and work in their own bands based on musical interest and skill level. They will learn songs in preparation for an end-of-camp rock concert on Saturday at the Detroit River Days Festival and participate in workshops such as songwriting, marketing, promotion, sound, and more!

Students who play other instruments or have limited experience should consult with the Community Music School.

Tuition is $200. Camp begins at 1p.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. All rehearsals and classes will be held in the CMS-Detroit building located at 3408 Woodward Ave., Detroit.

2013 Rock Camp dates: Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21

The Rock Camp performance will be held on Saturday, June 22 at the Detroit River Days Festival
