Beginning Group Rock Guitar

Students ages 10 through 17 learn the basics they need to rock out on guitar or bass in this exciting new group class. The class prepares guitarists and bassists to play in their own rock bands, including the CMS summer Rock Camp. Students will learn how to perform basic chords, chord progressions, strumming/plucking patterns, riffs, simple melodies, and simple improvised and/or non-improvised solos. TAB reading and elementary music theory (such as rhythm notation, music notation, and chord symbols), will be stressed. Each student will learn to play a whole song, and/or parts of selected songs.

This class is taught by Yoshihiro Fukagawa.
