Jonathan Walker-VanKuren (Voice)

Jonathan Walker-VanKuren is an instructor of voice at the Michigan State University Community Music School.

He is a first year Masters student at Michigan State University (MSU), in the Vocal Music Program, studying under Richard Fracker. Jonathan recently received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), under the tutelage of Dr. Joseph Baunoch.

Jonathan is very passionate about teaching music and performing. He has performed in many operas with IUP Opera Theatre, including The Tender Land (Martin) and Signor Deluso (Leon).  Jonathan has also played Rev. Eager in A Room With a View with MSU Opera Theatre. He also will be performing in the MSU China Exchange in the Peking National Opera House in Beijing, China this spring. 

Jonathan has worked at the Indiana, PA Keys Montessori School as a music instructor and for the past four summers he worked at Chestnut Lake Camp as the Drama Department Director, where he put together four full-length musicals during the six-week camp season.


Jonathan is an alumni member of Delta Omicron: International Professional Music Fraternity; MSU Chorale and Peoples Church of East Lansing Church Choir, where he is a Choral Scholar.
