Welcome to the MSU Community Music School! Founded in 1993, CMS is the outreach division of the MSU College of Music. Our mission is to provide comprehensive music education-quality instruction, related music services, and educational programs - for interested individuals of all ages and levels with financial assistance for those in need. We are conveniently located off-campus, on the eastern edge of East Lansing, just north of Burcham Road (map and driving directions) with plenty of free parking.

CMS joins Be a Tourist in Your Own Town!

Besure to include the MSU Community Music School on your list of stops for "Be aTourist in Your Own Town," sponsored by the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitor's Bureau onMay 31. CMS will be on campus at the Music Buildingfor the event, and is one of over 35 area attractions. The CMS stopincludes an instrument petting zoo and an insiders" tour of the Beaumont Tower where tourists can see and hearthe carillon. Are you looking for an instrument teacher for your child or yourself? This is the right place! We offer lessons on all band and orchestra instruments, piano, voice, guitar, even carillon. To find a teacher, you can call the office to give us information that will help us make a placement, or (even easier) you can try our new online lesson request form, located here.
